Our Story

How Together Thriving came to be

During University Kirsty felt a strong pull towards working in the fields of Mental Health and Paediatrics after some amazing placement experiences and inspiring supervisors. The 'shades of grey' - how nothing is ever truly black and white, and how two days are never the same that hold true in both settings was a big attraction for her.

After working in Mental Health for 10 years and seeing the gap in the Mudgee region for Paediatric OT services, she decided to undertake 18 months of professional development and supervision before taking the leap into paediatric private practice, opening Thrive OT in 2017.

Paediatric OT services in the region remained stretched, with many families still missing out, so she decided to build the business. Despite this growth, demand for services continued to outweigh OT availability urging Kirsty to rethink the traditional individual therapy model to incorporate online education modules and resources, group therapy options, rebranding the business to Together Thriving in 2022.

Together Thriving encapsulates the importance of collaboration, connectedness and community that Kirsty strongly believes is required for each of us to thrive.

Meet Our Team

Kirsty Bowlay

Founder + Occupational Therapist

Kirsty’s the mentoring, quick-thinking OT who shifts from strategy mode to obstacle course champion in a heartbeat.

She’s part plant collector, part mountain chaser, always reaching for the next challenge.

Kirsty loves coffee, cream, and cake - but not tiramisu (go figure) - and finds her bliss basking in the sun or drifting on water.

Emily Schembri

Occupational Therapist

Emily’s the always-on-the-go OT who’s passionate about helping kids build their gross motor skills - and somehow keeps the whole team organised while she’s at it.

When she’s not in the clinic, she’s on the court, field, or reformer - playing tennis or smashing out Pilates (with both hands, because yes, she’s ambidextrous).

She skips the coffee in favour of a fresh juice, fuelled by playlists, meal prep, and her next big plan.

Monica Lee

Speech Pathologist

Monica is a speech pathologist who lives to hear kids find their authentic voices - even when that means a passionate protest or two.

As a mum of two little ones, she squeezes creativity into the cracks of her day, often sketching or writing poetry under a tree.

When she’s not blowing bubbles, she’s probably building a panda sanctuary in Minecraft and wondering how she got lucky enough to call this work.

Hannah Lewis

Occupational Therapist

Hannah is an OT whose colour-coded to-do list and love for Pop the Pig are proof that play and planning can go hand in hand.

When she’s off the clock, you’ll find her browsing weekend markets, curating calm spaces, or singing along to Luke Combs (as one of his top 1% listeners on Spotify!).

Kind and welcoming, she helps little ones grow in confidence while making therapy feel like home.

Bella Wilson

Occupational Therapist

Bella’s an OT who uses bubbles, balance, and belly laughs to help kids grow in confidence and skill.

When she’s not in session, she’s re-watching Grey’s Anatomy for the fourth time, chocolate in hand and a French Martini waiting for Friday.

Just don’t hand her anything spillable - her white work shirt’s already been through enough.
