FAQs
Do I need a referral to see a therapist?
No, a referral isn't necessary to see our therapists, however your GP may be able to write an Enhanced Primary Care Plan / Chronic Disease Management Plan. This plan will provide a Medicare rebate on up to five Allied Health appointments in a calendar year. A Paediatrician may also write a referral that provides a Medicare rebate on appointments.
How do I make an appointment?
Contact us by phone, email or the Contact Us page on this website. One of our team will speak with you regarding your child's needs. We currently have a waiting list, which we close from time to time to ensure we are providing quality services to our current clients and looking after the wellbeing of our team.
How long do appointments take and where are they held?
Initial appointments usually take between 1-1.5 hrs so we can get to know your child's needs. Ongoing appointments go for 45 minutes. Appointments might be clinic based at The Therapy Hub, or community based in the home, school, childcare etc. depending on your child's goals and needs. A travel fee will be charged for community-based appointments.
What funding options are available?
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants can be seen if the plan is Self-Managed or Plan Managed. Together Thriving is not a registered provider with the NDIS, so we are unable to see participants whose plan is Agency (NDIA) Managed.
Medicare rebates may apply if your child has a GP or Paediatrician referral - speak to our team about rebates.
Private Health Fund rebates may apply - please contact your health fund directly to determine your eligibility and rebate amount.
Medicare and Private Health rebates are not able to be used for the same appointment.
